“We will be representing Boyd in 8 events at state ranging from Prepared Opening Statement, Criminal Case Analysis, Felony Traffic Stop, Foot Pursuit, Traffic Stop, Brain Bowl, SWAT Extraction and Traffic Accident Report,” criminal justice club sponsor Andrea King said.
According to team member, Marc Bloomer, the team is really excited for their state competition which will take place March 1-3.
“I compete in swat extraction and I will be headed to state,” Bloomer said. “Me and my team mates can’t wait for state and I feel really good that we will bring home first place.”
Competitions lasts all day and the team stays there the entire time to support one another.
“Competitions are an all day event, you get dressed in uniform, wait until it is your time to compete and cheer on your team mates,” Hoadley said. “Everyone in the club is so supportive and nice that they make all of the competitions truly enjoyable.”
Bloomer said the competitions are interactive and fun to participate in.
“Our competitions work like real life scenarios,” Bloomer said. “They’re really interesting and they make us think, but keep us entertained.”
With the state competition about a month away, Hoadley said the team is getting anxious.
“I’m getting nervous for state,” Hoadley said. “However, I am really excited to know that a lot of the members are going to State. It was the clubs very first year and it is awesome that so many people are going to state after all of the hard work that we put in.”
