“We have great performers and talented musicians,” Howley said. “We get a lot of everything.”
Students who are interested in participating in Unplugged must have an act that is at least 25 minutes long and experience performing in front of crowds.
“We just make sure that the performer is comfortable with performing.” Howley said.
Students and faculty alike show up to enjoy the different acts each week.
“It’s fun being able to go up Friday mornings and perform and play for your peers,” sophomore and recent talent show winner Ian Ambrose said. “I also watch it pretty much every Friday.”
Not only is Unplugged something to watch, but for aspiring musicians and performers, Unplugged is an opportunity to get their name out.
“It’s definitely a good experience to have especially if you don’t play a lot,” junior Anthony Russo said. “It’s a very good place to start.”
Unplugged has been something dear to Boyd’s librarians and is a tradition that will no doubt continue through the years.
“Ms. Frink and I so look forward to coming in Friday mornings,” Howley explained. “Even though it’s early, get your coffee, come out, it’s just a great way to start the weekend.”
Unplugged is held every Friday morning around 7 a.m.
