EVENProm will be held Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center.

Tickets are on sale for $65 during all lunches and can be bought for $100 at the door. The theme this year is ‘A Night in Neverland’.”

“If you want to bring someone who doesn’t go to Boyd, make sure to go to Mr. Bambico’s office for a form,” Student Council sponsor Josh Tiller said. “You have to get that formed signed, then give it to Mr. Bambico and he’s going to sign it, make a copy of it and you’ll give us that copy when you come to buy the ticket. You have to buy a ticket for your guest as well.”

Student Council will be setting up, running and organizing the prom with the help of teachers who volunteered to help.

“At the beginning of the year, teachers get to sign up for one big event, like a dance, so teachers just sign up to help, but prom is the biggest need,” teacher Robin Lakey said. “There’s like 78 teachers signed up to help. I am signed up to help with prom and I will be helping people to check in. Helping to make sure that kids are on the list, have their stuff and are ready to dance their hearts out.”

The money raised from tickets will also go towards other senior events.

“Not only does it pay for prom, it also pays for other senior events such as Senior Picnic, Senior Sunset and Baccalaureate,” Tiller said. “All of the money that is left over will be put into an account for their high school reunions.”

Some students use a wide variety of methods to invite their date to prom.

“I’m going with Blakeney Latson,” senior Peyton Siler said. “For my ‘promposal,’ there were three boxes labeled ‘1,’ ‘2’ and ‘3.’ Whenever she opened them up, balloons lifted up and had a sign on them. One of the said ‘Me,’ another one said ‘You’ and then I popped out of the third box and said ‘Prom?’”
